  • About Benware Termite Control

Benware Termite Control is owned and operated by Alan Rupprecht.  The company was started in 1972.  Mr. Rupprecht was employed in 1973, and became part owner in 1976.  All inspections and treatments are performed by Alan Rupprecht.  Inspections are performed Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

  • Where does Benware Termite Control perform inspections and treatments?

Benware works in Montgomery, Prince George’s, and close-in Howard Counties in Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

  • What services does Benware Termite Control provide?

Benware Termite Control is strictly licensed for inspection and treatment of wood destroying insects. Benware Termite Control is licensed by the Maryland Department of Agriculture, license 1156.  This license is recognized by the Government of the District of Columbia.  Approximately half of our work comes from real estate transactions, with the remainder from homeowners.

  • What does it cost for an inspection?

There is no charge or obligation for an inspection or estimate.  There is a $60.00 charge if a Wood Destroying Insect Report is required for a real estate transaction.

  • What does it cost to treat the average single-family home?

Every home is different, with varying degrees of the scope of work, however, an average cost of a single family home would be from $800 to $2,000.  Benware’s estimates are competitively priced.  A preventative exterior treatment is an option to protect a home which does not have active termite infestation.

  • Does Benware repair termite damage?

Benware does not repair termite damage, however, we work closely with licensed home repair contractors who are familiar with this scope of work.  We can provide names and telephone numbers, if you desire.

  • Why does Benware Termite Control have such a high rating in the Consumers Checkbook?

Since Alan Rupprecht, personally performs all inspections and treatments, this allows for the highest degree of quality control.  Mr. Rupprecht is also available by telephone to answer questions that prospective customers may have in regard to inspections or treatments. 

  • Which chemical does Benware Termite Control use for termite treatments?

Benware has been using Termidor since the fall of 2003.  We feel that it is the best termidicide on the market, and both Benware and our customers are very satisfied with the results.
